Knockan Crag lies 13 miles / 21km north of Ullapool on the A835. Its original Gaelic name is Creag a' Chnocain, meaning 'crag of the hillock'. There is an unmanned visitor centre, open all hours throughout the year, with information and interactive displays on the landscape and geology of the area, two circular trails for different abilities, a car park and toilets.
